Counting Calories?  Which countries eat the most?

People in Bahrain eat the most. Researchers at Oxford University ranked it first, with an average daily consumption of more than 4000 calories.

When it comes to food consumption, there is no denying that Americans have a reputation for hearty appetites. They ranked second, ingesting 3,868 calories per day.

Ireland has pretty much everything with a potato in it, making it the world’s third largest eating country with a calorie consumption of 3,850.

Belgium and Turkey, both with daily calorie intakes of 3,762 and 3,824 respectively, completed the top five.

The UK ranked 26th overall, with the average person making their way through 3,422 calories every 24 hours.

When it comes to calorie intake, the Indian population consumes 2,533 calorie a day.

The Central African Republic has the lowest calorie intake in the world, at 1,641 per person per day.

Other low calorie intake countries are Burundi (1,696), Madagascar (1,770), Zimbabwe (1,853) and Yemen (1,957).
