HOW MUCH WATER SHOULD YOU DRINK AT DIFFERENT AGES?

The amount of water needed varies depending on factors such as age, sex, activity level, body weight and climate.

Children aged four to eight years should drink five glasses (1.2 litres) of water every day.

It should include fluids from both food and beverages.

Between the ages of nine and 13 years, roughly seven-eight glasses of water (1.6-1.9 litres) are required every day.

Adolescents between the ages of 14 years and 18 years should aim for eight-11 glasses of water.

Just like teenagers, adults should also drink between two-three litres of water each day.

However, in adulthood, individual requirements may vary based on factors such as weight, activity level, and climate.

Men should drink 14 glasses per day, while women should drink approximately 10 glasses.

Adequate hydration becomes particularly important in older age due to potential changes in thirst perception and increased risk of dehydration.

It is recommended to take at least eight-11 glasses of water every day.

Experts recommend to listen to your body and pay attention to signs of thirst.
