The 2023 Met Gala will be held in New York City on Monday, 1 May.
This year’s event will honour German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, who died in 2019.
More than 150 outfits will be on display, along with sketches by Karl Lagerfeld.
The choice of “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” as the theme has stirred up controversy, as the late designer has been accused of racism, fatphobia, and misogyny by many.
Leading Met curator Andrew Bolton designed the theme.
The event usually extends invitations to around 400 guests.
A single ticket to the invite-only event can cost up to $50,000, with designers able to purchase an entire table for at least $300,000.
The Met Gala’s guest list is so exclusive that it remains top secret until the evening before the event.
But some of the biggest names in the business regularly attend—from Beyoncé and Lady Gaga to Madonna and Rihanna.
The Met Gala 2023 will have four co-chairs, namely Michaela Coel, Penélope Cruz, Roger Federer, and Dua Lipa.
It will be live-streamed across Vogue’s social media pages and website.
In India, the livestream will begin around 4 am on 2 May on Vogue’s website.
