The ICC announced a host of changes to the 2023 ODI World Cup schedule on Wednesday (9 August), with nine matches being rescheduled. The marquee India vs Pakistan match is one of them, with the match now to be played on 14 October, a day prior to the original fixture date which was 15 October.
Australia vs South Africa, England vs Pakistan and Pakistan vs Sri Lanka are some of the other big matches to have been rescheduled.
List of nine ODI World Cup matches rescheduled:
England vs Bangladesh: 10 October game will now be a day game not day/night
Pakistan vs Sri Lanka: Moved from 12 October to 10 October
Australia vs South Africa: Moved from 13 October to 12 October
New Zealand vs Bangladesh: Moved from 14 October (D) to 13 October (D/N)
India vs Pakistan: Moved from 15 October to 14 October
England vs Afghanistan: Moved from 14 October to 15 October
Australia vs Bangladesh: Moved from 12 November to 11 November
England vs Pakistan: Moved from 12 November to 11 November
India vs Netherlands: Moved from 11 November to 12 November
The World Cup will get underway on 5 October, with a match between defending champions England and New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
India will start their campaign in Chennai with a match against Australia on 8 October.
10 teams including India, England, New Zealand, Australia, Pakistan, South Africa, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Netherlands and Sri Lanka have qualified for the main event.
The tournament will be played in a round-robin format with each team playing against the other sides once. The top four teams will qualify for the semi-finals. Mumbai and Kolkata will be hosting the semi-finals on 15 and 16 November respectively, while the final will take place on 19 November in Ahmedabad.

Netherlands will open their World Cup campaign against Pakistan on 6 October at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, while on 9 October they will take on New Zealand at the same venue
The former Pakistan pacer also pointed out that India will be under a lot of pressure with the World Cup in their own backyard and not winning an ICC title for 10 years will also weigh on the minds of the players.
Despite the green light, Pakistan said that it has 'deep concerns' about the security of the cricket team and it would relay them to ICC and the Indian authorities.
